About Dorothea
Who am I
I am healthcare professional, working in public affairs in the EU health space. A pharmacist by education, with a deep understanding of EU healthcare and science policy, working out of Brussels for over 8 years. As a health policy expert I help organisations, associations, and NGOs to navigate Brussels’ complex policy landscape and give senior level advice on how to reach your advocacy goals. Always with the vision of advancing fair, equitable healthcare for all.
As a moderator and public speaker, I bring energy, clarity, and balance to conferences, panels, and policy debates. I build on my health policy expertise to re-phrase, re-frame and re-focus debates and facilitate constructive outcomes.
My Background
My work in EU health policy is shaped by many perspectives: as a former community pharmacist, as a public affairs professional at GCI Health and DGA Group, and as a rare disease patient myself. My Brussels career started with the Pharmaceutical Group of the European Union (PGEU) and with the European Pharmaceutical Students` Association (EPSA). I graduated from the University of Freiburg with degrees in psychology and pharmacy.
As both a pharmacist and a rare disease patient, I bring a personal as well as professional understanding of healthcare. This perspective helps me connect with diverse stakeholders, build trust, and create strategies that resonate across policy, advocacy, and scientific communities.
Outside of work, I am a yoga teacher at Yogalife Brussels and in private sessions. I sing and play the bassoon in HarmonieOrkest Brussel. I am an avid crocheter and happily fulfil the millennial cliché by being a houseplant lover and sourdough enthusiast.
Ways Of Working
I work as an independent consultant, collaborating directly with your team or together with other independent experts. The level of involvement, duration, and style of collaboration depends on each project’s needs.
I collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including patient advocacy groups, disease-specific alliances, health NGOs and charities, public health coalitions, research networks, scientific associations, public affairs consultancies, as well as pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical technology companies.
I am based in Brussels and work flexibly: remotely, in clients’ offices, or on location when required. My services are available in English and German.
